We Welcome our Interns

Kelsie Adams

Kelsie has five years experience providing mental health services and will complete her master’s degree in social work in May of 2018.


Kelsie currently works with people of all ages and specializes in helping those who struggle with depression, recurring sadness, and anxiety. She is also gaining skills in child therapy.


She is committed to providing care that helps others to achieve the life they imagine.


Kelsie enjoys music, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.




Ciera Moore

Ciera will obtain her Master of Social Work degree in May 2018 after the completion of her internship.

Following graduation, she will begin the steps towards licensure in Virginia.


Ciera has experience providing mental health services to both children and adults. She specializes in helping clients cope with the stresses of life, especially with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, PTSD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.


Ciera believes that change happens when people are given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potentials to live fulfilling, happy lives.


She is committed to providing an environment of compassion and support to help individuals and families overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive.

Danielle Boris

Danielle has her Bachelors of Science in psychology and is finishing up her Masters in Social Work (MSW) at Virginia Commonwealth University.


She has experience working with children exposed to trauma, adults with serious mental illness, and adults with intellectual disorders.


Her goal is to get licensed in Virginia and make counseling her career. She is excited to work with all age groups, with a special interest in working with children.


It is Danielle’s hope and passion to help her clients to realize the strengths within themselves and to use those strengths to push forward in reaching their full potential.


Siara Stewart

Siara will obtain her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Lynchburg College in May 2018 after the completion of her internship.

Following graduation, she will begin the steps towards licensure in Virginia.


Prior to interning at The Refocus Center, Siara completed her Lynchburg College practicum with the Harvest Outreach Center. At the Harvest Outreach Center, Siara gained more experience working with children and adolescents in individual and group settings.


Siara enjoys working with clients of all ages. Although she enjoys working with all ages, she has a special interest in working with children through play therapy.

In Siara’s spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking and camping. Siara also enjoys spending time with her husband, puppy, friends and family.
