Living with a Chronic Illness

Learning you have a chronic illness can bring up feelings of anger, sadness, loss, and wondering "why me".  You may feel like you are not a whole person anymore. You might be embarrassed or ashamed that you have an illness. It is important to know that, with time, your illness will become part of you and you will have a new normal.

It can be beneficial to talk through your emotions, talk through the illness process, and focus on living with the illness, rather than fighting it. Without talking through our illness, our feelings about the illness, and the impact it is having on our lives and relationships, we can be left feeling depressed and alone.
